Mathematical modelling of wind load on port bridge cranes

The loading diagram on port bridge crane accounting wind load has been made. The wind load has been represented as a sum of two constituents: statistic and dynamic ones. The statistic dependence between the pulsation duration and gustiness coefficients has been calculated. The computation analytical dependencies of wind load on a crane with weight accounting its dynamic constituent have been obtained.

On basic parameters of the portal crane "Albrecht" operating under wind dynamic influence

The mathematical model of an operating mode of the portal crane "Albrecht" under dynamic influence of wind has been worked out. The basic parameters determining crane working capacity under wind influence have been determined. They are: the maximal and equivalent loadings on turn mechanisms and the crane arrow start; the spatial corner of a cargo ropes deviation from a vertical; starting time of turn mechanisms and the crane arrow start. By means of the mathematical model the basic parameters of the crane working capacity for its work characteristic cycles in a time function have been researched. Allowable wind speeds for a crane working condition depending on lading weight and its windward square have been received.

Safety of transfer operations in seaports at increased wind loads

The paper presents main results of research on the effects of wind loads on the gantry cranes during loading and unloading operations in seaports. The main indicators determining the safety of loading operations have been given. Permissible wind speeds for the operational status of gantry cranes securing safety of loading operations have been obtained with the help of numerical simulation.
